In true petillant naturel fashion, the 2021 Cupido is very different than the previous vintage. Every natural sparkling wine we produce at Ramos Torres has different levels of carbonation, aromatics, and color due to the imprecise nature of bottle conditioning at the end of the pet-nat fermentation. This vintage is lightly carbonated and much lighter in body than the last. Despite these differences, it has some great fruity aromas right when you pop the cap off the bottle. Guava, passion fruit and a good deal of lemon curd will shine through in the glass. As said previously, it’s very lightly carbonated and refreshing; so this wine will be appreciated by those who prefer some effervescence in their glass but may not want something as carbonated as a traditional champagne-style wine. The palate has nice and bright acidity as well as a medium length finish. It is fairly low alcohol- another result of vintage variation in the vineyard- but the carbonation helps this wine have a full mouthfeel. Enjoy chilled!
