Immediately after opening the bottle and pouring a glass, dark cherry, blueberry, and blackberry aromatics are dominant. This wine carries several spice notes such white pepper, clove, and cinnamon from its slightly longer barrel aging. For a dry wine, the juiciness is quite nice as a balancing factor on the palate. Matured tannins give it a long, lingering, and surprisingly soft finish. A great choice to enjoy with a medium rare grilled filet.
